Active Isolated Stretching

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is one of the most popular methods of stretching used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers, and professionals. AIS enables the body to repair itself and also prepares the body for daily activity. The AIS technique requires holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body's natural physiology to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.

Long stretching shuts down muscle but AIS is 1.5-2 seconds so no shut down muscles.
I learned from Mr. Aaron mattes in San Jose, CA.
